Richard Meagher, M.D.

Richard Meagher MDDr. Meagher is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon who practices the full gamut of neurosurgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive spinal surgery at Princeton Brain and Spine. 

Dr. Meagher earned a degree in Psychobiology from Swarthmore College in 1992.  His senior thesis focused on facilitating recovery from brain injury.  While attending Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in NJ, he engaged in research that focused on degenerative processes involved in diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease.  He graduated medical school with Alpha Omega Alpha honors and moved on to perform his neurological surgery training at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia.  His training included award winning research into the mechanisms of recovery from traumatic brain injury.  Dr. Meagher’s clinical research has been published in many peer reviewed journals.  He has also contributed chapters to textbooks and presented research at numerous international meetings.  He currently helps develop guidelines for treatment of spinal disease as a member of the North American Spine Society Evidence Based Guideline Development Committee. 

Dr. Meagher has become a world expert in minimally invasive spinal surgical techniques.  He has traveled extensively to perform surgery for patients in NJ, PA, Florida, Ohio, and Missouri.

Dr. Meagher and his wife, Lisamarie, actively support their five children and their extra-curricular pursuits.  Dr. Meagher and his family are sports enthusiasts and exercise regularly.
